These Terms of Use govern access to and use of Tenon. Tenon is used by two groups of people in different ways — tradespeople who create accounts to manage their schedule, and customers who submit booking requests through a tradesperson's booking page. The terms that apply to you depend on which group you belong to.

This part applies to you if you have registered a Tenon account to manage your bookings and schedule.
A1. The service
Tenon provides a scheduling platform that helps tradespeople manage bookings in a geographically efficient way. Features include a geo-clustering availability engine, a public booking page, an embeddable booking widget, a daily schedule dashboard, and a weekly calendar view.
New accounts start inactive. Your public booking page only goes live after a Tenon administrator manually activates your profile. You can still log in, configure your account, and use the dashboard while inactive.
A2. Your account
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity under your account. You must provide accurate registration information and keep it up to date. One account per tradesperson — accounts may not be shared or transferred.
A3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the service for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the service
- Enter false customer data or fabricate bookings to manipulate the availability engine
- Use automated tools to send excessive requests to the service
- Resell or sublicense access to the service
A4. Your responsibilities to customers
You are responsible for reviewing incoming booking requests in a timely manner and for honouring confirmed bookings. When you confirm a booking, Tenon sends the customer an email on your behalf. The service agreement, pricing, and any dispute between you and your customer is solely between you and the customer — Tenon is not a party to those arrangements.
By accepting booking requests through Tenon you take on the role of data controller for your customers' personal data. You are responsible for handling that data lawfully and in line with applicable privacy legislation.
A5. Availability engine accuracy
The availability engine calculates booking windows using travel-time estimates from a third-party routing API. These are approximations. Actual travel times may differ due to traffic, road conditions, or changes to your schedule. You should always review your daily schedule and apply your own judgement before confirming bookings.
A6. Termination
You may stop using the service at any time. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you breach these terms, use the service in a way that is harmful to others, or for operational reasons with reasonable notice where practical. On termination your booking page is deactivated and your access to the dashboard ceases. You may request a data export before termination.
This part applies to you if you submitted a booking request through a tradesperson's Tenon booking page. You are not creating a Tenon account — you are contacting a tradesperson who uses Tenon to manage their schedule.
B1. A booking request is not a confirmed appointment
Submitting a booking request through Tenon does not automatically confirm an appointment. Your request goes to the tradesperson for review. The booking is only confirmed when the tradesperson approves it and you receive a confirmation email.
The tradesperson may also propose a different time. If that happens you will receive an email with a link to accept the new time or to contact them directly.
B2. Cancellations
Once a booking is confirmed you will receive an email containing a cancellation link. Clicking that link cancels your booking immediately. Cancellation is only available for confirmed bookings — contact the tradesperson directly for any other situation.
B3. Accurate address
The booking form requires you to select your address from an autocomplete suggestion. This is because the availability engine needs accurate coordinates to compute whether your location fits into the tradesperson's route. Entering an incorrect or approximate address may result in an incorrect booking window or the tradesperson being unable to find you.
B4. Your data
The name, email address, phone number, and service address you provide are shared with the tradesperson whose booking page you used. This is necessary to carry out the booking. Tenon does not use your data for advertising. See our Privacy Policy for full details of how your data is handled and your rights.
B5. Service agreement
Any contract for the trade service itself (pricing, guarantees, workmanship) is directly between you and the tradesperson. Tenon provides the booking infrastructure only and is not a party to any service agreement between you and the tradesperson.
Intellectual property
Tenon and its content, features, and functionality are owned by us and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. Tradespeople retain ownership of the data they enter (business profile, services, bookings). By using the service you grant us a limited licence to store and process that data to operate the service.
Limitation of liability
The service is provided \"as is\" without warranty of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the service, including missed appointments, scheduling errors, or inaccurate travel-time estimates.
Our total liability to a tradesperson for any claim arising from these terms shall not exceed the amount paid to us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or zero if nothing has been paid.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We will update the effective date above and notify tradesperson account holders of material changes by email. Continued use of the service after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
